About Me

After playing the piano privately for 20 years, I became self-employed as a pianist in January 2009. I offer private piano tuition in performance and music theory as well as exam entry to local exam boards such as ABRSM, LCM & RSL, although more are available with other tutors.

I have performed during official school events, presentations & for private concerts. I have also accompanied performers during competitions as well as choirs during practice periods, in some cases providing recordings for them to practice with.

Please feel free to contact me at enquiries@nathanjhenry.co.uk with any questions you may have.

What are your Qualifications?

I have been awarded a Diploma in pianoforte performance. DipLCM is the first diploma after Grade 8 awarded by the London College of Music. In total there are 4 further levels of achievement:

DipLCM Diploma of the London College of Music
ALCM Associate of the London College of Music
LLCM Licentiate of the London College of Music
FLCM Fellowship of the London College of Music

Other exam boards have similar diplomas i.e. ABRSM currently offers the ARSM, DipABRSM, LRSM & FRSM. The standards & repertiore generally confer.

These qualifications may be written following your name i.e. Nathan J Henry DipLCM.

While I have not been awarded Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) I have experience teaching in schools (mainly primary) as a Peripatetic piano teacher.

Learning at NathanJHenry

For my younger students, lessons don't have to be like an extension of your school day. While the atmosphere is respectful it is much more relaxed! You have chosen to learn how to play the piano, so I aim to make it as fun as possible.

I have been criminal record checked by the Disclosure & Barring Service which replaced the Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check. My DBS check is processed by Due Diligence Checking Ltd, a DBS registered umbrella body. I also have a working Studio Operating Policy (SOP).
